Laser Eye Surgery for Astigmatism
Laser eye surgery, also known as LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis), works by reshaping the cornea with a laser. During the procedure, the surgeon creates a thin flap in the cornea using a microkeratome or femtosecond laser. The flap is then lifted, and the laser is used to remove a small amount of tissue from the cornea to reshape it. The flap is then put back in place, and the eye is left to heal.
